FDA approved first pills TRUVADA for HIV

The food and drug administration approved the first drug shown to reduce the risk factors of HIV infection.
The agency approved Gilead sciences pills TRUVADA as a preventive measure for people who are at high risk of acquiring HIV through sexual activity, such as those who have HIV-infected partners.
Working:
Truvada is a type of medicine called an HIV 1(human immunodeficiency virus) nucleoside analog reverse transcriptase inhibitor and combines EMTRIVA® (emtricitabine) and VIREAD® (tenofovir disoproxil fumarate [DF]) in one pill. TRUVADA is always used with other anti-HIV-1 medicines to treat adults with HIV-1 infection. It`s just stop the HIV- DNA transcription & prevent the HIV replication in body.
Clinical efficacy:
As per the news report, we are known that in the last three year a daily doses of truvada cut the risk of infection in healthy gay and bisexual men by 42%, when accompanied by condoms and counseling. In last year an another study found that Truvada reduced infection by 75 percent in heterosexual couples in which one partner was infected with HIV and the other was not.

Dose: You should be used Truvada , two times in a day after or before taken meal
Precaution:
Contact your healthcare provider right away if you face any of the following side effects or conditions while taking TRUVADA:
Nausea, vomiting, unusual muscle pain, and weakness. These may be signs of a buildup of acid in the blood (lactic acidosis), which is a serious medical condition.
Light colored stools, dark colored urine, or if your skin or the whites of your eyes turn yellow. These may be signs of serious liver problems (hepatotoxicity), with liver enlargement (hepatomegaly), and fat in the liver.
If you have HIV-1 and hepatitis B virus (HBV) and stop taking TRUVADA, your liver disease may suddenly get worse. Your healthcare provider will monitor your condition for several months
If you have had kidney problems or take other medicines that can cause several problems of kidney, your healthcare provider should do regular blood tests to check your kidneys.

FDA Awareness:
FDA approved this drug as an anti HIV pills. But FDA scientists said there was no indication from clinical trials that Truvada users were more likely to engage in risky sexual behavior. So please use precaution like condoms then prevent the viral growth
